EU GPSR Compliance Guide for Etsy Sellers

Starting December 13, 2024, the EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) requires sellers to include an "Economic Operator" for products sold in the EU. As an Ownprint user, we've got you covered! Below are the steps and details you need to update your Etsy shop and ensure compliance.

1. What is an Economic Operator?

The Economic Operator is responsible for ensuring your products comply with EU safety standards. For Ownprint users, Print-on-Demand B.V. acts as the Economic Operator for all products fulfilled by us.

2. What Do You Need to Do in Your Etsy Shop?

Here's how to update your Etsy shop with the required information:

  1. Log in to your Etsy account and go to Shop Manager.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Partners You Work With.
  3. Select Add Economic Operator.
  4. Enter the details below.
  5. Click Save Operator.

3. What Does This Update Mean for You?

To meet GPSR requirements, all EU-bound products will include a QR code on the packaging. This QR code provides:

  • Compliance information.
  • Traceability through batch numbers.
